When I first got into vaping last year, I was looking for the best tube mods. I had heard a lot of good things about them. The difference between tube mods and box mods really isn’t that great. It depends on your personal preference and particular features on different options.  

I found that there are so many different options available on the market. It was hard to find something that seemed basic enough for a beginner like me, though. I didn’t understand all the gadgets needed for vaping, and that’s why I chose the Joyetech eGo AIO.  It’s easy and inexpensive, which turned out to be a great investment for me.  

 

Simple for First-Time Vapers

One of the best parts about this Joyetech tube mod was how easy it was to start using. I didn’t have the time or patience to sit around messing with my new vape tank. Luckily, with this one, I didn’t have to. 

Despite my novice knowledge on the best tube mods, I was able to get the hang of it quickly. You can achieve a fairly decent draw without making a big mess. I also like the LED light feature that confirms when you’re firing.  

For a relatively cheap vaporizer, it has everything a beginner like me needs. Its 2ml capacity may seem small to expert vapors, but it was perfect for me. The only thing I struggled a bit with was the lack of airflow control markings. This made it hard to tell where my settings were, but I was able to make it work. Making my own marks sure beat shelling out $100 for a different tube mod.  

After months of using it, I still haven’t had any major issues with it. I’d recommend it to any first-time or amateur user. It worked for me, and although I have since graduated to more advanced atomizers, I still bring it out from time to time. It’s good for traveling or social outings, as I don’t have to worry too much if something were to happen to it.

While it’s not nearly as fancy as something like the Tugboat V2, which sells for upwards of $140, the eGo AIO is one of the best mods for someone looking to spend a minimal amount on a product they can try and experiment with. I was so happy to not have to pay a lot of money to give vaping a try, and I was even happier with the product itself. It’s safe to say that it gives you more bang for your buck, and I’m so glad I was able to get my start with a simple tube mod that didn’t stretch my budget.

Dab pens have become the new normal; everyone has one or is getting one. So, to help you out, I’ve reviewed a couple of the lower priced pens because I know this is what the masses jump on to try something new!
 

Important Things to Know Before Your Vape Pen Purchase!  

Charge the pen first– This is so you don’t burn out the battery before you start. 

Don’t Charge Too Long– The light will change color when fully charged.  

Read the instructions– Read all labels, instructions, and warranties before purchasing. This can save you more money in the long run.  

No long Drags– These can burn your lips and that isn’t fun. Pull till it warms up a bit but not too deep!  

 

Boom Sd Mini Pen/Pen (steel) by Boom 

The first one I tried was the Boom Mini. It really wasn’t that good—the hit was a bit harsh. I’m not sure if that was because of the products or the vape juice. The pen got really hot, really fast on long drags. It also only had one coil working properly. 

Beware that this will not come with directions so make sure to read up on how to use it. The thing with these is that they are best for concerts or long trips when you don’t want to bring out your more expensive vape pen. It’s completely disposable and really not useful for anything other than a backup that you don’t mind losing or breaking. 

 

Organic VitaVape – with Hemp oil – Vitamin Essential Oil 

The second pen I tried is an oil pen. Organic Vita is pure hemp oil, although it’s commonly referred to as a vitamin pen. I understand that a lot of people will use this if they hate taking pills like I do.  

Hemp is completely healthy and this one keeps out all the nasty chemicals. I would go as far as to say if you’re trying to put down the cigarettes this might be the way to go.  

 

The Wax Pen/SD Pen in Black  

This standard wax pen is perfect. It was a little pricier than the last two and it seems cheap, but it worked the best. It also came with the complete kit!  

Use goods like wax, shatter or the tiniest amount of bud with this pen; you don’t want to go overboard and ruin it. The pen takes a USB charger so be prepared to wait for a full charge. The hits are really smooth too. No coughing. For the price, it was worth it. 

 

Final Thoughts and Overall Opinions

I think all of these pens should come with extra coils or little replacement pieces to add more value but in general, they are made for short use. For what it’s worth, most of the pens did their specified jobs and the hits were not that bad either.  

When it comes to buying things like this online, you always get what you pay for. The pens all pretty much work the same, or at least very similar. As long as you thoroughly check everything—like how I told you-you should have a decent vape pen.

Before getting involved in vaping, I had no idea what a box mod even was. As I soon learned, a box mod is an electronic cigarette device with either an internal battery or the capacity for an external battery.  

In other words, a box mod is the core component of vaping and you certainly need a good one to enjoy vaping. Both the regulated and unregulated versions are shaped like a square, so they are called box MOD. I found one I was really happy with from VaporDNA, a store that offers mods, vape juice, vape tanks and so much more.

I’ve read other user reviews online, and it seems everyone has nothing but good things to say about this box mod. Not only is it clean and portable, but it also has an impressive capability and maximum output of 80W.  

It’s 1800 mAh integrated battery gives it one of the top range to size ratios on the market. You can easily charge it with the Micro USB port, and it keeps its charge for a good amount of time. I appreciate that because I’ve had friends tell me how other brands and varieties lose their battery life after what seems like just an hour or two. I’ve been able to take it on full day outings without any problems; just charge it up overnight and you shouldn’t have any problems. 

Other cool features include the threadless 510 connection. You can use a variety of options such as a covert tank or an atomizer adapter, which is a bonus compared to other box mods on the market with more limitations.  

You can easily control the temperature and keep the heating under control. I’ve never had an issue with overheating or the box mod being too hot to touch, so I think that’s another benefit!  

 

Good Value, Good Addition to Vaping Gear

Overall, I think this vape starter kit is well worth the (already reasonable) money. Not only are they often on sale, but these kits pack a lot of bang for their buck. When you think about everything you get, from the different options and fancy features to the portability, it’s a pretty decent value.  

I think other people shell out way more money for a box mod kit that doesn’t even tick all their boxes. On vapordna.com, the list price is posted as $74.99 while the store’s price is $59.99 and the clearance price is $29.99. For prices like that, you get a whole lot of vaping gear from a trusted manufacturer.  

These box mods come in black, blue & gold, or sterling silver. While I personally prefer the blue body, I respect the fact that there are options for other shades, too. Six months after buying it, I still have no major hesitations—other than that it will make you keep wanting to vape more and more!

SnowWolf XFENG 230W TC Box Mod

I couldn’t begin to explain how happy I am with this purchase. The SnowWolf XFENG 230W TC Box Mod is great for all vapers—old and new.

It is not difficult to use, handles well, durable and looks pretty fancy. It comes in three colors, Jungle, Woodland Camo and High Class White.

On one side of the box mod, it has a colored LED screen where you can arrange your display and wattage. I love the fact you can visually see what you’re doing too. It reminds me of a phone because the screen is a good size and just what I was looking for. Also, I’m pretty sure you can do other cool things with the screen I just haven’t got that far with exploring it.

The other side of the SnowWolf XFENG 230W TC Box Mod is the reason I chose the mod, really. It has all the zodiac signs around a snow wolf- which I LOVE.

I’m a pretty spiritual person and love reading my horoscope on a daily basis, so I knew I had to have the mod right when I saw it.

I ended up choosing the High Class White because it looks super sleek with the zodiac signs and the LED screen. I feel pretty badass using it, not going to lie. I have been asked by multiple people what type of mod I’m using because it looks that GOOD! Yes the looks of the XENFG are stunning but what really matters is what’s on the inside.

Accurate and Amazing Temperature Control

The SnowWolf XFENG 230W blows all other E-Cigarettes out of the water on how spot on the temperature control is. I’ve hit many mods and some are more powerful than others.

I can hit one box mod at 40 watts and be satisfied but have to hit another one at 80 watts just to get a baby cloud of smoke. However, with the XFENG 230w box mod, I can hit it at 60 watts and it feels like 60 watts. It isn’t too powerful or have no power at all, it is perfect on how it handles.

I like the fact it is accurate because I have friends who hit my vape occasionally and I need to turn it down pretty low so they don’t cough. In the past, I had one of my friends who doesn’t vape often taste my vape juice and I turned the wattage all the way down to 35 but he ended up throwing up because it was still too powerful- he couldn’t stop coughing.

It makes me more comfortable having the SnowWolf now because I know 35 watts feels like 35 watts and not 80 watts. Along with the accuracy of the temperature control, I couldn’t tell you how durable this thing is!

Durability Is A Necessity

I hate to admit it but I’m really clumsy. I don’t even know how things happen if I mess something up the majority of the time because I’m so clumsy. It just comes naturally I guess. So, having a durable box mod is a must!

I thought this mod was going to break with one drop because of the LED screen but it is the dynamic duo of a clumsy person like me. It is much better than the SnowWolf R 200W TC Box Mod. When I had the SnowWolf R, I had to get a new mod within a week because I dropped it once and it broke immediately. So I’m pretty happy SnowWolf found a way to accommodate someone as clumsy as me! It’s durable, looks good, hits great and goes perfectly with the Aspire Cleito 120 and SMOK TFV12 vape tanks.

Box Mods and Vape Tanks

I’m super happy with the SnowWolf XFENG 230W TC Box Mod because each tank I have used has worked great. I have tried two different brand tanks, SMOK and Aspire with the XFENG and there are no complaints. Everything about this mod is perfect down to the sweet smell of the vape juice it burns!

I recommend this mod to anyone who loves a good hit and a big cloud.

Somehow, “cleaning my vape” probably didn’t make the cut for that list.

That being said, knowing how to clean a vape tank is a very important part of the process.

Today, we’re going to give you a step-by-step guide on everything to do with cleaning your vape device and tank.

To Clean Your Vape Device is to Know Your Vape Device

First thing is first, you need to know what parts make up your vape device.

You’d be surprised how many people don’t research what they buy and have no idea what parts make up their tank.

There are lots of variations of devices in the wild, and it’s impossible to know exactly what kind of setup you’re working with. Still, here are a few of the more common parts of a vape setup:

  • Mod
  • Batteries
  • Atomizer (or tank):
    • Base of your tank
    • Coil
    • Glass chamber
    • Tank lid (or top cap)
    • Drip tip

Your exact setup may be different in some ways. For example, you may be using a rebuildable dripping atomizer (RDA), rebuildable tank atomizer (RTA), or a coil head atomizer or tank.

If you’re excited about some new e-juice you got in the mail, you may want to clean your tank to get the smell and flavor of the old juice out.

This is especially true if you’re trying to test the new juice out to see if it clicks with you. It’s not fair to have your new juice mixing with the old stuff.

1. Take Apart Your Tank

The key here is that you need to disassemble your tank. Take a look at the parts of a vape device we discussed above.

Not only do you want to remove your tank from your mod, you also want to pull apart the different parts of your tank.

If you’re not familiar with your tank, it may be a good idea to consult an instruction manual or website the manufacturer of your vape tank may have provided.

If not, you can generally do it like this:

  • Remove tank (or atomizer) from the mod
  • Take out the drip tip from the top cap
  • Unscrew the top cap from the glass or plastic chamber

The point is you want everything separated so that you can clean the parts individually.

2. Examine Your Coil and Wick

In some cases, you may want to use dish soap or 91-percent isopropyl alcohol to clean the parts. This is good for getting at tanks that are especially dirty or have been neglected for too long.

The IMPORTANT thing to remember here is that if you are using dish soap or alcohol, be sure to RINSE AND DRY THOROUGHLY.

4. Dry Completely

When all is said and done, you just need to let the parts air dry separately and on their own for about 15 minutes to half an hour.

You can rest them on a paper towel or regular towel to collect any dripping water, too.

5. Reassemble Your Tank

From there, feel free to put your tank back together, fill it up with your new e-liquid, and go!
